Haverfordwest County AFC Signs Young Goalkeeper Lucas Myers

Haverfordwest County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Lucas Myers, who has linked up with the club ahead of the 2026-27 season. Myers joins the club from Swindon Town's academy system, where he competed in the Youth Alliance League and cup competitions including the FA Youth Cup.

What happened?

The highly-rated young stopper had a loan spell at Swindon Supermarine last season, giving him his first opportunity in senior football. Myers trained with Haverfordwest County AFC in April and showed all the attributes the club looks for in a young footballer.

Why it matters for Haverfordwest County AFC

Having three goalkeepers, two of which are full-time, adds depth and added competition to the club's goalkeeping department. Manager Tony Pennock said, "Lucas trained with us in April and showed all the attributes we look for in a young footballer. He has already experienced a good level of senior football on loan from Swindon Town. He shows an excellent level of maturity for someone so young, and we look forward to seeing him continue his development at the club."

What comes next?

Myers will be part of the club's recently-announced hybrid model, which enables players to train with the club on a full-time basis to help further aid their development. The club would like to place on record their thanks to Swindon Town for their assistance, and they wish them well for the upcoming season.
